The Department for ensuring compliance with legal requirements in the field of technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology under the Agency “Uzstandart” (hereinafter – the Department) was established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan № PP-4059 of 12 December 2018 “On measures to further develop systems of technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology” with the following main tasks:

to prevent and prevent law violations in the field of technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology;

provision of comprehensive assistance to business entities in technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology issues;

implementation of a set of measures to identify violations in the field of technical regulation, standardization, certification and metrology, and take measures to eliminate the causes and conditions that contribute to them;

organization and implementation of state control over compliance with the requirements of technical regulations, normative documents on standardization, ensuring the unity and reliability of measurements, rules of mandatory certification.

In its activity the Department is guided by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, resolutions of the chambers of the Oliy Majlis, decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, other acts of legislation, as well as orders and instructions of the General Director of the Uzbek Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification and this regulation.
